Notes From Rest Week

So... I'm pretty frustrated about getting sick.  I really wanted to see how my body responded to the rest and the extra sleep... but the virus made it really difficult to tell.  I definitely feel rested... but also yucky.

 

Weight loss seemed to continue without interruption.  I have a suspicion that cortisol may play a big role for me in all this.  Time will tell.

 

I set some goals with Jim's help (more on that later).  I got a start on organizing my kettlebell…

Workout and Food Log

Workout:

4 rounds of:

50 squats

25 K2E

25 kettlebell push-ups

 

Followed up with a tabata set of one handed swings with the 44 lb.

 

Food Log:

Brakfast:

2 turkey bacon, 2 eggs, 2 cups of coffee with creamer :)

 

Lunch:

1 cup fage greek yogurt with strawberries, 2 turkey bacon, a few carrots

 

Snack:

A few carrots, 12 almonds

 

Dinner:

Breakfast:

2 eggs, 2 turkey bacon

 

Lunch:

1 1/2 cups of plain greek yogurt and a small nectarine

 

Snack:

Carrots with a little bit of light ranch dressing (1 tbsp?)

 

Dinner:

2 eggs, 2 turkey sausage, 1 apple with 2 tbsp. of peanut butter, fish oil pills

 

Cutting out the caffeine did nothing for my headaches, and I didn't feel any different…

Workout and Food Log

I'm going out this evening, so I thought I would log my day now :).

 

Wokout:

 

4 minutes of presses, 2 minutes each hand - this could have been better.  I started out at a sprint pace and did 8 presses with the 35 lb. in the first 30 seconds of the first set of 2 minutes.  I then proceeded to do only 8 for the remaining 90 seconds. Sheesh :-P.  I then started on my right side and my back seized.  I made it 30 seconds in on that side and 6 presses before I had to…

Workout:

4 rounds of:

50 swings

-1st round catch and release with the 35 non-stop

2nd round with the 62 and 70

3rd and 4th rounds catch and release with the 35 25 at a time

TRAINING/NUTRTION BLOG: 9/21-9/22/11

TRAINING:

No training either day. Felt dizzy and sick. Hard to stand for more than a minute or two Wednesday, so I spent all day in bed after classes.



Still feeling a little dizzy and rundown. I will be better by tomorrow. At least the appetite is back.

2 minutes LCP each hand 35 lb.

2 minutes rest

90 seconds LCP each hand

60 seconds LCP each hand

About 100 squats. :) Really tired today, was going to go on the elliptical, but I think I will just hit it hard tomorrow after dead lifts in the morning.  Trying to psych myself up for 2 sets of 2 at my previous max! :)
