TRAINING/NUTRITION BLOG: 9/15-9/19/11

TRAINING:
9/15
Rest Day

9/16
Dumbell Snatch
2 x 5 w/60lb dumbell
3 x 5 w/70lb dumbell

300 Hindu squats

Did this in the hotel gym in Reno. I do like the dumbell snatch. It is not the same exercise as the kettlebell snatch, but it is a great exercise. It really is equally valuable. I used to do these with up to 100lb dumbells before I'd ever heard of kettlebells. I had to stop after only five sets because they were tearing my calluses up.

9/17
100 pullups
100 Hindu pushups

300 squats (in 8:59).

I looked around at the hotel gym and noted they had at least $100,000 in treadmills, ellipticals and stationary bikes. I think I was the only one sweating. This was a huge hotel gym and it was your typical globogym, with all the same misguided crap. It has been two years since I'd been in one of those. Amazing.

But, they at least had dumbells, a good pullup bar and a nice open area to work in.

Same story I used to tell for years: I am in a room with $100,000 worth of equipment and use less than $100 of it...and am still in the best condition of anyone there.
