Breakfast:

3 turk saus

coffee

Workout:

Tried some short cycle clean and jerks but the hand and my left shoulder were bothering me a little. Knowing that I really need to work on my presses so that I am not coming out to far and aggrevating the shoulder.

So I did 1 round of 5 double squats with the 35s and then decided to try something new:

2 rounds of: 100 hindu squats non-stop.   These were awesome. I'm feeling it in places I haven't "felt" before! :)

Also practiced some hindu push-ups....really want to get better at these.

Also did quite a bit of lower back stretching which I really needed. I need to remember that stretching is just as important as the workout. I forget that quite often!

Apple post workout

Lunch:

Cheeseburger salad with a little ranch

10 fries

Snack:

Almonds

Dinner:

Taco salad, with sauteed onions and zucc, my LAST corn on the cob.

We have peaches coming out our ears so I made a peach crisp and I had to try it to make sure it was ok. So I had about 1/2 cup of it. I don't really care for it which is a good thing!

So, I'm going to ramble a bit here......I was really discouraged this weekend after weighing myself after going the month of Aug paleo and finding that I had gained 2 lbs. So this month I have decided that I am going to do a couple of "challenges" for myself to see if I can't conquer this weight thing.

#1- Only allow myself soda on my cheat day

#2- Nothing to eat after dinner for me.....especially NO MORE popcorn

I'll continue to eat paleo because I believe its a way healthier way to eat. Hoping for some changes this month! :)

You might try incorporating a hard set of sprints a few times a week if you aren't already. They should help with the leaning process. You are getting strong, so there's no doubt you are building muscle. =)

Thanks guys! I haven't really noticed any difference in the way my clothes are fitting so that only added to the frustration. I liked the link you gave Brent....it is true. I hardly ever weigh myself....I really don't go on that alone. It's how I feel and how the clothes are fitting that are the true test. And that has been a little disappointing for me.  Moving on tho....   and if I ever get over to the co-op I will have to try the zevia. :)

I hear ya on the frustration.  I've gone through something similar.  What helped me is scaling back the "cheat day" to more of a "cheat meal" and scheduling it after one of my tougher workouts of the week.  I've also gone through periods of cutting down on the fruit, although that is more difficult for me to maintain.

I think Rachelle is right about the possibility of muscle too.  Total body weight is a tricky thing.  Check out the pictures of this lady.  She is the same weight in both pictures, but her body composition is totally different.  :)

Keep after it!  You'll get it dialed in!

Have you been taking measurements? Its possible those 2lbs are muscle. A "healthier" soda you could try is one called Zevia. It's an all natural soda sweetened with Stevia and contains nothing artificial. Doesn't screw with your blood sugar and there's no chemicals. www.zevia.com I've seen you can only get it at the Boise Co-Op around here. I'd like to try it, but how often to I get to the Co-op...ummm, never.. LoL!

You've been doing awesome in the gym. Hopefully your little tweeks help provide results more desirable to you. =)
