Eating Paleo has ruined going out to dinner...

So last night my wife, Stacey, and I went out for dinner. I allow myself one cheat meal per week, where I eat and drink anything I want.

We went to Smoky Mountain Pizza in Nampa, and I had my heart set on their Caribbean pizza, which has chicken, red peppers, cilantro, and pineapple. I ordered a whole medium size. I haven't had pizza in weeks as a cheat meal. I also grabbed a few tall Sam Adams pilsners to wash it down.

Stacey ordered some dish with grill romaine hearts, garnished with pine nuts, blue cheese crumbles, balsamic vinaigrette dressing. She also had a whole bunch of sliced carrots and lemon- seasoned broccoli. Of course, this was all surrounding a huge grilled chicken breast.

When our food came out, I was actually pretty disappointed and wished I had ordered what she had.

Although hers was still a prepared restaurant meal (and therefore still not healthy), hers was vastly better for her than mine. It contained no wheat, no corn syrup and very little processing.

I never in a million years would have thought something like that would be better than pizza. I guess my palette has changed.

Even the beer wasn't good. Drinking only red wines has changed that for me too.
