I lost some weight the first week but then gained back a pound when I weighed yesterday. Another set of scales bites the dust. I have not eaten any sugar, no artificial sweeteners, no grains, no nothing and yet my scales turn against me. What is happening? Am I supposed to eat just a very little bit or can I eat 10 oz. of steak and a salad with vinegar and oil and expect to lose weight? If this doesn't start getting better, I am going to have my jaws wired shut, get liposuction, have a stomach tube put in for eating, get a face lift and move to Guam.

Don't stress over 1lb. My weight varies by about 3lbs from day to day. You have to look at the general trend over a few weeks.

If you read my logs during my detox, you would see that I ate plenty. You also shouldn't focus on what the scale says, but rather how you look, feel and how things fit. The number on the scale will fluctuate during the week due to water retention and even if you haven't pooped in a couple days (no joke). Stressing over the scale and how those numbers roll day to day can be, to be blunt, a total mind f*ck. I actually committed to not looking at the scale for the whole month of April because I focus too much on those numbers. It's not healthy.

And yes, eating Paleo will allow you to eat more food then you expect. You're eating real and nutrient dense food so you can pack in a lot of protein and nutrients for much less calories than if you were eating processed crap. So eat that steak and salad with oil. =)
