While I am not doing the sugar detox (because with few exceptions I live at the level 3 on it), after reviewing some of the literature, I am going to restrict a few things during the next few weeks and see how much difference it makes.

This means:
-No cheat meals, like a trip through the drive thru through once a week.
-No alcohol of any kind, not even my red wine or NorCal margarita a few times per week.
-No sugar at all, except for a whatever small amount I choose to have in a postworkout meal.

This being the case, after Stacey and I decided to go out to dinner tonight (since her birthday is soon and we have plans with family then), it was a tough road. I usually don't mind having a cheat meal and will go heavy on the carbs like potatoes or rice once or twice per week. This took some very careful choosing.

We decided on BBQ. I avoided all the obvious things like ribs slathered in sauce and french fries. Those are my two weaknesses in a place like this.

I got a bunch of dry-rubbed ribs, but had to be very careful about which rub I got to ensure brown sugar wasn't the chief ingredient.

Side orders were another minefield. Who can pass those up when they come with the rest? And dinner came with two sides. So, I asked to have a double order of steamed broccoli for my options (plus I ate 1/2 of Stacey's, since she had to take my cornbread muffin).

The torture was not being able to have any of the spicy sauces I would usually dive into with a meal like this, and wash it down with beer. Instead I had three huge glasses of water only. Took 3600mg of fish oil as soon as I got home.

12am-
3 ZMA caps with 3mg of melatonin with roobios tea.
