TRAINING/NUTRITION BLOG: 02/03/13: Intermittent Fast and Tabata Hill Sprint/Crawls

TRAINING:

02/03
2 nasty rounds of Tabata hill sprints.

Drove about 30 miles up into the hills through the mud and fog to get to the sunshine.

One nasty round up a steep road with about 4" of snow, then another, worse, round straight up a hillside with knee-deep drifts that had frozen, thawed and refrozen several times. Kept falling through the crust on top, so I really almost ended up bear crawling up the hillside for 1/2 of the Tabata round. Good training.

The wind was howling at the top, so that just added to the load.

Lungs, chest and glutes were absolutely torched by the end of it. Glutes and core are already feeling a dull ache. Good times! Conan approved!

NUTRITION LOG:

Intermittent fast from 10pm last night until about 430pm today.

Had a Detour protein bar after the workout. Not paleo friendly, but 30gr whey protein and 32gr carbs.

7pm-

Two huge local grassfed beef hamburgers double stacked on a huge portabello mushroom with red onion. Probably about 16oz of meat total.

Enough organic corn tortilla chips to finish an entire bowl of guacamole with a large avocado and local, organc salsa. Really probably only about a large handful, since I was scooping the guacamole on like mad.

4000mg fish oil

cod liver oil

5000iu vitamin D
