Day #7 of detox:

HAPPY EASTER!!!!

Breakfast:

2 slices of bacon

Lunch:

Large green salad with cucumbers, tom. brocc. hard-boiled egg, celery, carrots, cheese, sunflower seeds, turkey and ham.  My sister and I attempted to make our own dressing with vinegar, EVOO, fresh grated garlic, yellow mustard and some spices. It was alright, but don't think I'll be making it again.

Snacked on some carrots while cleaning up and everyone else was eating their desserts.

Dinner:

Large green salad same as above except I used chicken mixed with avacado and mustard. This I liked. It was good!

My thoughts on the last week:

Today was by far the hardest day for me. We had a huge family dinner at our house and everyone brought delicious food including some amazing desserts. Luckily my mother in law and sister are doing the detox with me so at least I had company. If it would of been me by myself it would have been even harder. Yet, I made it through and I didn't have the "I've over ate" feeling that everyone else was complaining about.

I didn't get to workout/run as much as I would have like to this week. WIth being sick and company here it just didn't happen as much. Now that I'm feeling better and only have one house guest instead of 5 it should be a better week. I'm also hoping that with one week down I will start having more energy. I feel like I have been drained a little more(could be the sicky stuff too) with cutting back so much but hoping it comes back! With one week down it hasn't been to bad. Glad that I am sticking strictly to the plan tho so that I have no regrets at the end. When I weighed myself on Friday I was down 4 lbs from Monday. So I would say the detox is working at least in that area!

Meyer lemons are a cross between a lemon and a mandarin orange. They are advertised as being 'tart & sweet'; I love them! You can get them in little plastic bags in the produce section at Walmart (Winco and other places probably have them, too. I dunno)

I'm so proud of you! Awesome job, girl!

You might try making a dressing using the meyer lemons instead of the vinegar..it's much nicer.

Also, it's common to feel fatigued during the first week. This week you should start feeling better. Not that you ate a ton of carbs before, but now that your carb intake is greatly reduced, your body will switch to burning fat for energy instead of relying on the extra carbs you used to take in. That should help with an increase in energy. Also, make sure you are eating enough because when you are eating totally clean like this, you can fit in more food (if you feel like you need it). Emphasis on healthy fats for energy.

Onward into week 2! =)
